CarerHelp News: Being prepared crucial when caring for a person with terminal illness

If you have just started to care for a relative or friend with a serious illness, you may be wondering what to expect and prepare for. You want to support the person needing care as best as you can, but may not know where to start.

CarerHelp’s online Carer Check Tool can aid you to identify the areas of caring you need to plan for. It comprises eight easy questions, with the results listing the aspects of caring you are likely to need support.  The results also list factsheets, websites, and other resources that contain practical information to help you learn more and prepare. You can email a copy of the results to yourself to bring to your health care team who can help and connect you to appropriate supports.
